An Automated External Defibrillator, or AED, is a portable lifesaving device that can diagnose sudden cardiac arrest and deliver an electrical shock to help restore the heart’s natural rhythm. When sudden cardiac arrest happens, immediate action is critical. A person’s chance of survival can drop by 7% to 10% for every minute without intervention, which makes quick access to CPR and an AED truly lifesaving.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen quickly and without warning, but knowing what to look for can help families, coaches, teachers, and communities respond faster.

Unexplained fainting, lightheadedness, or dizziness during activity should never be ignored.

Chest pain or discomfort during exercise may be a warning sign.

Gasping, shortness of breath, or labored breathing should be taken seriously.

A racing, fluttering, or unusual heartbeat may signal a heart rhythm issue.

Sudden collapse or seizure-like symptoms can be connected to a cardiac emergency.

Unusual tiredness or weakness during activity can be a sign to pay attention to.
Every donation helps Living4LilShawn continue raising awareness, supporting heart health education, and helping schools, teams, churches, and community spaces gain access to lifesaving AED resources.
Living4LilShawn is committed to helping protect young hearts by increasing awareness, education, and access to lifesaving tools. If your school, youth sports organization, church, community center, or local program is in need of an AED, we invite you to submit a request through the form.
AEDs can make a critical difference during a sudden cardiac arrest emergency, especially when paired with CPR and people who are prepared to respond. By requesting an AED, you are taking an important step toward creating a safer environment for children, families, athletes, and the people in your care.
Please share as much information as possible about your organization, location, current need, and how an AED would support your community. A member of the Living4LilShawn team will review your request and follow up with next steps.
